It’s amazing how much friendships have changed simply by introducing technology to the mix. Where before I mostly had friends from my local area, I now have close friendships with ladies from Pennsylvania, Kansas, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, Maryland, West Virginia, Alabama, and North Carolina. Through technology, I’ve gotten to know these ladies better than some of the people I see on a weekly basis.

There was recently some talk in the Skype group that Mandi and I are part of…wouldn’t it be fun if our kids got to know each other too? We didn’t necessarily want to turn them loose on Skype, but we did want them to enjoy the experience of having friends from all over the country. So we decided to go the old-school route of pen pals. Our kids are all completing a printable pen pals introduction form and sending a copy to each of the other kids in the group. After that, they can casually write to someone from the group from time to time and enjoy getting their own mail in the mailbox.
