I do have a kindle, and I love it! Honestly, I really enjoy reading books on it. People keep telling me I should have saved up my money and bought an iPad instead, but having no distractions is really important to me. I am easily distracted when using devices that are internet capable. I knew I wanted one when my mom let me check hers out this past summer. And I have the wifi only new generation version (I discovered a gift card I hadn’t used from last christmas, too!). So happy I got it, really.

I just got a kandle light (there was a good deal 2 for $10 the other day) – so I’m excited about reading in the dark, now too!

Free books? I’ll have to think more seriously about it now. I’ve tossed the notion aside because I live in an area with a large, excellent library that has nearly everything I’d want to read.

Oh I totally love my kindle… I love carrying an entire bookcase in my bag, I love that I can reward my kids for good work with a new book instantly, lots of free classics, a huge variety of books… so whatever I am in the mood for I can read… sometimes I want a story, sometimes I want facts and so and on and …on!!! I was really doubtful about getting a kindle, I love paper books!!! But this has really turned my reading up a gear, I have read more books in the last year than in ages, simply because it is always on me and I can literally pick it up and read it where I left off. I have it set up so I get an email every time there is a new post. This site points me to free books that (I don’t think) I could find through the usual Free Books listing in the Kindle Store.

I have a Kindle, and I’ve been looking for more free books. Is there a particular way to look for the free ones? The only thing I know to do is by going to the Kindle store, accessing the menu on the right side for the Top 100, and then scrolling through those pages. If there’s another way to do it, I definitely want to know. Once in awhile I’ve just happened to check for a particular book and found it free. Cha-ching! )

I LOVE my Kindle! I don’t miss the feel of holding a book at all. I love that I can set the Kindle on my lap and read hands free if needed. I can drink, eat, do anything without ever losing my place. I actually like the sleek feel of the Kindle in my hands. I love that I can change font sizes too. When I have my contacts in I need to adjust it and it’s so simple!

I too have over 200 free books. I subscribe to Kindle Nation Daily and every time there is a free book listed at Amazon it is posted on this guy’s blog. I never have to go searching for them.

The biggest thing the Kindle has done for me is helped me to explore other authors and genres. Because of all the free books I’m stepping outside my familiar reading habits and trying new ones. And enjoying them!

With the new low price, it’s no more than the cost of a few new hardback books. I will never buy a paper book again!

I’d love to know which light you use. I haven’t found one that I love.

I have one and my daughter does too. LOVE it. It’s one of those purchases that I deliberated over for so long. And now I wonder, why did I take so long to buy it? It’s wonderful. Every expat needs one. Absolutely. I, too, love having a portable way to read the PDFs I get online.

I’ve compiled a list of where to find freebies for the Kindle. (And don’t neglect Pixel of Ink. Amazing finds!) Hope that helps!

I love my Kindle – I’ve got close to 500 books on it, and have paid for less than 10 of them…most of them I haven’t read yet.

Ereaderiq.com is a website that checks Amazon multiple times a day for new free books. You can check the website or have them send you an email. Some books are free for only a short while, so if they interest me I grab them, even if I don’t have time to read them right away….

I, too, love my Kindle. One of the nice features is being able to get a free sample of a book before committing to buy it. When I see a book reviewed that I think I’d like, I download a sample and then can make the purchase decision later.

Look, I’m a Librarian and totally a “book person” but I bought my kindle 3 as soon as it came out and I LOVES it!!! This is the best invention since portable chocolate! It fits in my purse and I never leave home without it.
