Shenandoah Valley Staycation Ideas

This week we’re celebrating the staycation, a vacation where you stay home and explore all that your city has to offer rather than spending money to travel somewhere else, hosted by Toni at The Happy Housewife and Andrea at Saving Lifestyle.

Yesterday I shared staycation ideas for the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia and West Virginia, and today I’ve got links to staycation ideas for dozens of other cities as well:

Mid-Atlantic

Midwest

South Central

South Atlantic

Mountain

Pacific

What’s your favorite local activity to do as a family? Are you planning a staycation for this year?

She lives with her family on a little slice of heaven in wild, wonderful West Virginia and loves coffee, chocolate, easy meals, beautiful things and minimalist spaces.

    No staycation in Atlanta?!!!

Actually, the kids and I are visiting a new attraction in Atlanta every week this summer. We’ve already been to the Center for Puppetry Arts, the Atlanta Botanical Garden and tomorrow is the Children’s Museum! Atlanta is a great place for a staycation!

Next year YOU should write the Atlanta post!

Last year Atlanta was featured on one of the blogs. I’m a little disappointed because there aren’t as many places nearby this year in the features. I’m in SW Va where TN, VA, and WV meet. We usually budget to travel to one of these places or to NC.

I’ll have to see how far Winchester is. The pick your own sounds like a fun day.

You can see if there are closer Pick Your Own farms here as well: http://pickyourown.org/

        Hope that helps!
